What is required when I rent a car?

A: All drivers must provide a valid driver’s license, be older than 21 years of age (if under 25 there will be an additional fee) provide a major credit card, and proof of insurance.

Will I be charged an additional fee for mileage?

A: No, there is unlimited mileage provided within the common wealth of the state of Florida (contact the offices for rental vehicles going outside the state).

What is the rental time period?

A: Rentals are based on a 24-hour period. If the car is returned after the 24-hour period, but within the 2 hours of the return time, no additional charge will be assessed. Cars returned after the grace period will be charged an additional day.

Will there be a fee if I have to cancel my reservation?

A: Any cancellation must be done 5 days prior the arrival day. If the reservation is not canceled within this period a penalty of $150.00 will be charged.

What should I do if there is an accident with the Rental car?

A: First the police should be contacted to complete a proper report, and then you should contact our offices for more information about the following procedures. If the vehicle is not drivable and needs to be towed the customer should contact the Road Side Assistants which number is provided at the top right corner of every rental agreement.

Should I include insurance on my rental?

A: All customers must provide full coverage insurance; if the customer does not have one a CDW will be offered.

What are the requirements with regard to fuel?

A: The rental vehicle shall be returned with the same amount of gas it was received otherwise there will be additional charges at the time of the return.

Is smoking permitted in rental cars?

A: No, Toyota Rent a Car maintains a 100% smoke-free fleet and any type of smoking (pipe, cigarette, cigar) is prohibited in all vehicles. Just as renters will be assessed a fee for cleaning the car’s interior for excessive stains, dirt or soiling attributable to the renter’s use, customers will be assessed an additional charge if the car smells of smoke when it is returned.

Can I change where I return a vehicle after I’ve picked it up?

A: Yes, but you’ll need to let us know in advance to make a modification to the return location. Be advised that there may be additional charges depending on the return location.

May I extend my rental beyond the original return date?

A: Yes, but if you wish to extend any rental you must contact the Toyota Rent a Car office at 305-242-3211. We will be happy to accommodate your request, if possible. Your original rental rate may no longer be available and an additional authorization will be taken on the provided Credit Card. Your rental agent will provide all details when you call.

What should I do if I have problems with my car? Do you offer roadside assistance?

A: Yes, we provide 24 hours roadside assistance, this number can be found at the upper right corner of every rental agreement.

Who is responsible for parking, tolls and moving traffic violations?

A: Every toll will already be included on the rental, whatsoever you are responsible for payment of any parking, and moving traffic violations along with a reasonable administrative fee, so please drive safely and observe all ordinances. Payments for these violations may be processed by a designated agent for this purpose
